Glamorous Black and White Wedding at the Park Hyatt Aviara : Doug and Linda Moriarty

Question: What’s black, white, red and glamorous all over????

Answer: The amazing wedding of Doug and Linda Moriarty.

What a privilege it was to work with this beautiful couple and play a small part in their stunning wedding held at the Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad California.

I was introduced to Doug and Linda through their wedding planner Catherine Bachelier- Smith of CBS Weddings about a year before their big day and fell instantly in love with this extraordinary couple.  With a clear vision of creating a glamorous black tie event utilizing a simple color palette of red, white and black, we went to work.

J Grace began by designing what would become the signature motif for the happy couple and first introduced it in their darling save the dates.  This flourish design and custom monogram was later carried through in all elements of their event stationery.  A favorite project of 2012 was designing a couture invitation suite combining silk, swarovski crystals and etched glass. To compliment the invitation, J Grace designed coordinating pieces including custom black and white pocket escort cards with a small crystal ball embellishment, luxurious silk wedding menu folios and table numbers featuring hundreds of small swarovski crystals to form the numbers against black silk easels — Va Va Voom.  Thanks to Platinum Pro for transforming their signature motif into one of the most dramatic dance floors yours truly has ever seen.

The jaw-dropping florals and table decor was designed and executed by Karen Tran Florals and as always was a masterpiece.  Many Thanks to Paul Barnett Photography for capturing this magical event.

Inspired by the soft hues of twilight against a blanket of freshly  fallen snow, this magical winter wonderland wedding day was born.

Last week happy couples from far and wide made a trip to the historic San Diego U.S. Grant Hotel to attend their 2011 “Royal Wedding” Bridal Show in which top professionals in the wedding industry were asked to design their own version of a royal affair.  Our team, led by Karen Tran Florals and Crown Weddings transformed the space into a modern day Camelot using a palette of crisp white, glistening silver and exquisite crystal details at every turn.

J. Grace was delighted to contribute all stationery items including a couture bejeweled wedding invitation and luxurious menus with large crystal brooches fit for a King and Queen.  In addition, many guests left with a special gift designed by Simply Posh inviting them to Dance, Laugh and Love  during their entire wedding day by hiring a perfect team of wedding professionals to handle their event from start to finish which highlighted the talents of Crown Weddings, Karen Tran Florals, J. Grace and Pam Scott Photo.

Winter Wedding at La Jolla Country Club — Sienna and Todd

On the last Saturday of February, Sienna Richards married her long-time love Todd Feerrar during a fairy tale wedding coordinated by the Bridal Bar which just happens to be owned by the Bride’s mother Anseth.  From beginning to end, the event defined old world elegance with special touches and sophisticated details at every turn.  J. Grace was honored to provide all event stationery.  Stationery designed for their wedding day was designed using tones of bronze, gold and deep blue and included hand-applied swarovski crystals.  For the couple’s Rehearsal Dinner which took place at the la Jolla Beach and Tennis Club, a more casual approach was taken — providing boxed invitations and menus featuring real bits of driftwood and sea shells – -so fun and fresh!

Florals were designed by Indulge Flowers and  True Photography Weddings did an excellent job capturing the day from the I Do’s to the last dance.

A few weeks ago, the Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa was transformed into a virtual Purple Paradise for the wedding of Chloe Woods to Benjamin Nussbaum.  Using a palette of amethyst, aubergine and soft lilac, Karen Tran Florals designed this enchanted evening.  J. Grace happily contributed all custom stationery for their big day as well as creating a custom logo for their dance floor – -a nice finishing touch.  Thanks to Darin Fong Photography for capturing the night so well and Mazel Tov to the happy couple!
